LU Cleantech expected to invest in both innovations from Lund University as in national and international development corporation within cleantech. LU Cleantech’s Board has established the following criteria and guidelines for investments:
- New or relatively new firms and companies in the expansion.
- Possibility of an initial stake of 20-40%.
- Initial capital 5-15 million.
- Large growth in an international market.
- A realistic business model in relation to the market, competition and financial resources.
- The company must have a professional structure with efficient business processes.
- Good quality of company management, combined with entrepreneurial drive and energy.
- The objective is that the return on investment is equal to an IRR of 20%.
- Investments must meet LU Cleantech’s requirements for ethics and morality, among other things, based on the policy document “ethics at Lund University - A Guide” (Dnr I A95631/2002).
- The aim is that 10-20% of the total capital asset can be allocated to a single investment.
